Size Guide

Ensuring the right fit for your pet is crucial for their safety and comfort during travel. Use the guidelines below to properly measure your dog or cat for our travel gear.

Measuring for a Carrier

Your pet should have enough room to stand up, turn around, and lie down comfortably in their carrier. To determine the right carrier size, take the following measurements while your pet is standing upright:

  • Length: Measure from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail (do not include the tail). Add 2-3 inches to this measurement for comfort.
  • Height: Measure from the floor to the top of the head (or tips of the ears if they stand up). Add 2-3 inches to this measurement.
  • Weight: Always check the weight capacity of the carrier to ensure it safely supports your pet.

Measuring for a Harness

A properly fitted harness prevents chafing and ensures secure travel. Use a soft measuring tape and keep two fingers between the tape and your pet's body for a comfortable fit.

  • Neck Girth: Measure around the base of the neck, where the collar usually sits.
  • Chest Girth: Measure the widest part of your pet's chest, just behind their front legs. This is the most important measurement for a secure fit.

Measuring for a Car Seat

Car seats keep your pet elevated and secure. Since they will be sitting or lying down, you'll need slightly different measurements.

  • Sitting Height: Measure from the floor to the top of the head while your pet is in a sitting position.
  • Lying Length: Measure the length of your pet while they are curled up or stretched out in their usual sleeping position.
  • Compare these measurements against the interior dimensions of the car seat.

Checking Individual Product Size Charts

Because product designs vary, the general guidelines above should always be cross-referenced with the specific size chart provided on the product page. Look for the "Size Chart" link or image near the size selection dropdown when viewing a product. If your pet is between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up for travel comfort.
